Citation Encore

Citation Encore (Plus)

A worthy successor to the Citation Encore, the Encore Plus hit the market in 2007, endowed with a Pratt & Whitney Canada PW535B engine and an integrated Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics platform. This advanced jet is prized for its dexterity (it can land on runways as short as 2,439 feet), its ability to fly non stop for a solid 1,625 miles, and, most notably, an increased payload of 16,630 lbs which allows five passengers to travel with a full fuel tank. With one of the largest cabins in its class (17.8 feet long) it’s not short on space or creature comforts. The Encore Plus’ remastered technology has been well received by pilots who have praised the aircraft for delivering a much smoother landing when measured against earlier Citations models.

Beech Jet 400A

Beech Jet 400A

The choice of the US and Japanese Air Force, the reliability, endurance, and comfort of the Beech Jet 400A are without question. Originally the brain child of Mitsubishi, the rights to the Diamond 2 were acquired by Raytheon in the mid 1980s and the reengineered, remastered Beech Jet 400A was born. The Beech Jet’s stellar performance comes courtesy of the integrated Rockwell Collins Pro Line 4 Electronic Flight Instrument System (EFIS) which sports two primary flight displays (PFD), a multifunction display (MFD), and the option of a secondary MFD. More than 600 Beech Jet 400A planes were produced over two decades and most are still flying—fine testimony to the jet’s exceptionally robust airframe. The Beech Jet’s luxury interiors boast an enclosed lavatory, flat floor (quite rare for a light jet), and a baggage capacity of some 59 cubic feet, which can be accessed from within the cabin.

Falcon 10

Falcon 10

The erstwhile rival to the Learjet light jet family, Dessault’s Falcon 10 (a 70 per cent scale version of the original Falcon 20) invigorated the light jet market when it was first produced in late 1960s. French aircraft manufacturer Avions Marcel Dassault is renowned its high performance military fighters (Mirage), so it comes as no surprise that the Falcon 10 outwardly expresses the robust conformation that characterizes a fighter jet. Harnessing the colossal powers of a Garrett TFE 731-2 jet engine, the Falcon 10 long reigned as the fastest business jet in existence and it remains one of the speediest jets flying today. With a superlative take off rate of 4,600 feet per minute, a range of 1,750 miles, a speed of 520 mph, and the ability to land on runways as short as 3,300 ft, the Falcon 10 is all things to all discerning men.

With an outstanding safety record, the Citation V is smooth to handle and boasts a cockpit with 340 degree visibility—more than any other jet in its class. At just over 17 feet, the Citation V’s roomy cabin, with two temperature zones, can seat up to eight passengers who enjoy extra wide, fully reclining and rotating seats. And, with innovative soundproofing and heavy duty windows, it’s impressively quiet.
