With market roll out planned for the end of 2014, the Legacy 500 is the brainchild of Embraer, the Brazilian manufacturer that has made a habit of incorporating commercial airline features into its bizjet family. The ambitious launch of the Legacy 500 speaks to the manufacturer’s campaign to offer a world-class product in every major business jet category. With its flat floor and six-foot-high ceiling, the 500′s cabin size is comparable to a super-midsize jet and can be configured to seat up to 12 passengers. When it comes to technology, Embraer’s uncompromising legacy holds sway; the Legacy 500 is the first, full fly-by-wire system in the midsize category. Powered by Honeywell HTF7500E turbofans, producing 6,500 lbs of thrust, the Legacy 500 achieves an impressive range of 3,000 nautical miles.
