Citation Ultra
In 1994, Flying Magazine named the Citation V Ultra the ‘World’s Best Business Jet,’ and for good reason. One of the best selling executive jets of all time, the Ultra is powered by Pratt & Whitney JT15D-5D engines which are capable of generating a tremendous 3,045 lbs of thrust. Where this Citation model truly excels is its short take off distance—the Ultra can complete a takeoff in just 3,200 feet while loaded to its maximum takeoff weight of 16,300 pounds. An innovative straight wing design stimulates improved air flow and reduces drag. The Honeywell Primus 1000 Electronic Flight Instrument System (EFIS) embodies the simplicity for which the Citation series is renowned; the glass cockpit features three computer screens (one for each pilot) which consolidate the previous generation’s five screen displays to form one multifunction display that is much easier to interpret. The Ultra’s aviation suite is much praised by pilots who cite improved hand-eye coordination and enhanced flight performance. The Ultra’s 17.3-foot cabin is thoughtfully designed with polished interiors complemented by ambient lighting and strategically located mirrors to radiate a sense of light and space.
